A counsellor who listens first

I'm Kay, a person-centred counsellor. I hold a BA in Counselling and I'm a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). I work with adults across the UK via online sessions, and I trained because I know how powerful it is to feel truly heard — that's the foundation of everything I do.

My approach is warm, gentle, and led entirely by you. There's no agenda, no judgement — just a consistent, confidential space where you can say whatever you need to say.

Questions

Things people often ask

It's completely normal to have questions before starting counselling. Here are some of the most common ones — and if yours isn't here, just ask.

Sessions take place via Microsoft Teams. You'll need a private space and a reliable internet connection. I'll send you a secure link before each session. Many clients find online counselling just as effective as face-to-face, with the added benefit of not having to travel.
There's no set number — it depends entirely on you and what you're working through. Some people find 6–8 sessions helpful; others prefer to work together over a longer period. We'll review regularly and you're free to end at any time.
Yes. Everything you share stays between us. The only exceptions — which I'll always discuss with you — are if I believe you or someone else is at serious risk of harm. I work within the BACP ethical framework and take your privacy very seriously.
That's exactly what the free consultation is for. It's a no-pressure, no-obligation conversation where we can get a feel for each other. If it doesn't feel like the right fit, I'll do my best to point you toward something that might suit you better.
I ask for at least 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations may be charged the full session fee. Life happens — I'll always try to be understanding, and I ask for the same in return.
